Stacia D. Kelly – Holistic Health/Hypnosis/Martial Arts
Stacia D. Kelly, PhD, MHT
Dr. Kelly has been acting as a life coach and role model since the early 90′s. Health and fitness is a way of life, not just a quick fix, so she practices martial arts, creates sculptures and paintings, writes and manages a household with three cats, a husband and a wonderful son—the reasons she practices Holistic Health Care, all while living in the here and now.
In 2006, she became a nationally ranked NPA Figure Competitor, placing third in her class first time out. When she realized she loved the competition and the training, but her focus and life calling was more towards the martial arts, she has specialized in martial arts training. She’s participated with the American Tae Kwon Do Association (ATA) and holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. She is now studying under 6th degree black belt, Tom Callos and working on becoming a Rape Prevention Instructor with the Fight Like a Girl program. (And yes, she’s still in the gym as strength training much as possible to build power and doing cardio – as much as she hates cardio…she’s there, logging 20+ miles a week, however she can.) She is currently participating in the Ultimate Black Belt Challenge, and a active member of Everything Self Defense and the New Way Network. She is now, also, the DC Martial Arts Examiner for www.examiner.com.
Psst, YES, she’s a mom and wife too. Her son is 6 years old going on 20 with the way he’s been testing her lately and her husband is a god-send because he deals with all her crazy endeavors.
Stacia’s experience includes corporate wellness program development, personal health & wellness planning, nutritional counseling, fitness planning, group training, individual hypnosis program and script development, and corporate and educational training seminars. Stacia is a past member of the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce and BNI’s Woodbridge Connection. She is currently developing a Martial Arts/Fitness program for the House, a Leadership program for at risk youth in her home town. She (along with her husband, Nick Kelly) is also a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Abused and Neglected Children (CASA) in Prince William County. She and her husband are actively working on building KittenKlaws, a non profit dedicated to providing health and safety training to at risk youth.
Stacia obtained her BA from Virginia Tech, her Master’s from George Mason University and her PhD from the American Institute of Holistic Theology, with a lot of other certifications and degrees in between including a stint in Paris and at George Washington University for a few certificates.
